How To Revive Your Sex Life After Baby

Let’s face it, marriage with kids in the picture can put a strain on your sex life. We know it can be hard to find time for intimacy with physical exhaustion and little ones running around. This makes it easy to put sex on the back burner. But don’t despair – I’m here to share with you a few tips about how to revive your sex life.

First, get comfy. Don’t worry about your postpartum belly, or whether or not you can squeeze into those jeans you used to wear pre-baby. Comfort is key when it comes to moms getting it on! Put on some loose-fitting clothing, and make sure your bed is extra cozy.

Next, let’s talk about communication. Communication is key in any relationship, but especially so when it comes to reviving your sex life. Express your desires and needs to your partner and make sure that you actively listen to one another. Let your partner know what you like and allow them the same freedom. This may feel awkward at first, but being open will help bridge the gap between the two of you.

Third, Scheduling. When you’re a new mom, it can feel like there just isn’t enough time in the day, let alone enough time to make time for sex with your partner. But, believe it or not, scheduling sex can actually make it better! Set aside a designated “date night” each week. Pre-plan what you and your husband will do on that night, and if need be, make sure you have someone lined up to watch the kids while you two sneak away. Once you have a night planned, make sure that night is special by planning something that you both enjoy. Whether that’s going out for dinner, taking a walk in the park or watching a movie at home – the point is to do something relaxing and romantic that helps you two reconnect.

Fourth, Change things up! Try to spice things up in the bedroom. Introduce some new activities, like role-playing or watching adult movies together. This can help reignite the spark between you and your partner. Also, don’t forget about foreplay! This important part of sex often gets overlooked in marriage.

Another idea to get the juices flowing is to think about what kind of activities your spouse enjoys and see if those can be worked into your routine. For example, if your spouse loves playing video games, why not try a game-inspired date night? Outfit both of you with controllers and battle it out in your favorite game!

Additionally, don’t shy away from romance. Let your partner know how much you appreciate them with loving words and gestures. Try not to get too caught up in the little things that may keep you from connecting with each other. Above all else, take time to enjoy each other’s company and rekindle the relationship that brought you together in the first place.

If you feel like you and your partner need additional help, you might consider going to couples counseling or sex therapy. Maybe even attending workshops or retreats together. All of these can help bring back the passion and intimacy between you and your partner.

Finally, remember that marriage isn’t always going to be perfect. There will be times when things get tough, but if you make a conscious effort to care for yourself and communicate with your partner, then you can easily revive your sex life in marriage. Happy cuddling!
