Okay! Let’s rephrase that and say for the new or 2nd, 3rd, 4th…. time mom. It wouldn’t be such a bad idea to receive a gift every time we bring a baby into this world (whichever way that may be). So if I were you, I’ll hand over my device to the hubby/partner or send this link to him to read up! Who knows, you might just be pleasantly surprised.
I’m guessing some dads are reading this now, so hello daddy! Just in case you are wondering, a push gift is a gift you get for your partner after she gives birth. This is something to literally tell her “thank you” for the awesomeness of carrying and birthing that beautiful bundle of joy that has brought so much light and happiness into both your lives :)!
This list goes from a high to a low so DO NOT quit reading this just because you see something that you think is just a little too much (whereby nothing is really too much given what momma just pushed out or had to be cut open for, haha!).
1. A Car
This isn’t so common as it isn’t cheap. However if you can afford this, you best believe she would absolutely love it. Most times, it’s a bigger car for the whole family creating enough room for the new addition making it super convenient for mom as well. (can you imagine taking a car seat out of the backseat of a 2-door car? me neither).
2. Customized Jewelry
This is hands down the most common item most new moms receive. It is usually gold or silver plated and has a very special touch of your newborn’s name or initials or a locket with the baby’s picture. There is no mom on this planet that wouldn’t love this and cherish this.
3. Vacation
After carrying a baby for 9 whole months and having our lady part push out an actual human, a vacation is a definite YES! Take this as your first family vacation. Wow her and take her somewhere she has always wanted to go to or just anywhere beautiful. Make sure it’s baby safe too if you’ll be taking the baby along.
4. A Nanny Service
YES, these exist and they are a lifesaver. They are companies that have qualified experienced nannies that can be paid for whatever duration you would need them for. I’m sure the new mom has had little to no sleep since the birth of the baby. Some moms actually start having sleepless nights right from their third trimester so you cannot even imagine how great giving your partner a break would be. If you aren’t comfortable leaving the baby alone with the nanny, you can have someone close stay with the nanny while the new mom relaxes.
5. Romantic Dinner
This should be what it says “romantic” and relaxing. Take her out. Somewhere special and nice. Dress up and sweep her off her feet. Let her know how happy she has made you and how grateful you are to her for birthing pure joy and love. Let it be a date she would remember for life!
6. A Day Or Two With Her Girls
If you have a partner that loves her girls and does just about anything with them, then she would love this. The baby should be a bit older obviously so it’s okay for her to be away for a day or two. You can take it a step further by booking a hotel room for them topped up with fun activities. She would love that little break.
7. A Heartfelt LETTER
This may seem inexpensive but believe me, we most times feel a bit unappreciated for the indescribable pain we went through. A letter coming straight from your heart would absolutely mean a lot to her especially if you aren’t one that writes love notes.
8. Public Appreciation
This is just like a letter but instead, you are doing this in front of friends and family. Publicly profess your appreciation and love to her. Make it a complete surprise. She would be amazed.
If your partner happens to be crazy about something in particular, incorporate that into a push gift. The whole point of this is simply to appreciate her. Hope we have given you great tips!
