3. How many weeks were you when you found out you were pregnant?

2-3 weeks

4. Pregnancy planned or unplanned?

Unplanned but not unplanned. My husband and I were just going with the flow of God. Whenever it happened, it just happened! 🙂

5. How did you tell your husband/partner about the baby?

I was actually getting my nails done should be approximately one week at the time and the smell in the salon made me sick to my stomach so i  mentioned this to my husband then decided to do an at-home pregnancy test that said other wise. My husband and I went to the doctor about one week later and they told us we were pregnant indeed! 🙂

6. When did you announce to family and friends about your pregnancy and why?

We did not announce our pregnancy to our family and friends until after month 3. the reason we chose to do this is because in the past we experienced complications and wanted to make sure we were through the first trimester before getting everyone excited.

7. Morning sickness(or all day sickness)? If yes what did you do best to feel better?

In the first trimester I did have all day nausea. Peppermint and rest made me feel better.

8. What did you crave most?

I craved peanut butter the most! I wanted it with everything.

9. First baby item you bought?

First baby item I bought was little newborn Jordan (Nike) booties! I love sneakers.

10. Most challenging moments of your pregnancy?

The most challenging moment of my pregnancy was resting because I like to go and move around a lot. I am a go-er, if that is a word. It was hard for me to just rest and do nothing at times. I felt as if the world was moving on with out me and I was being left behind. ha! But truth is, you must rest and take care of your body hence to keep the baby and your self healthy.

11. Most memorable moment of your pregnancy?

The most memorable moment in my pregnancy was in when I heard the heartbeat of my precious baby girl! 🙂 and it was the absolute best moment ever.

12. How many hours were you in labour?

I was in labor for about 17 hours (from induction to hearing the baby cry).

13.What support did you have with you during labour, was it helpful?

I had a bunch of support, Thank God! My husband, mother, mother-in-law, Grandmother and aunt were very helpful. They kept me laughing and entertained. However, there were moments when I wanted to say “Everyone Out!”. Lol!

14.Did you have a Caesarean Section or natural birth? If natural, did you use epidural?

Natural birth with epidural.

15. First thought or reaction when you saw your baby?

Oh I cried like a baby!! That was a moment that can’t be explained with words. It was as if God opened up the heavens! Best moment of my life!

16.What do you wish you had known or what would you have done differently as regards your pregnancy or/and delivery?

I don’t think I would have done anything differently.

17. How long were you at the hospital for after delivery?

I was there for a little more than 24 hours after delivery.

18. Favourite baby product or item you bought?

Favorite baby product is diaper genie and Nosefrida “The SnotSucker”.

19. Product you bought but ended up not using (and advice other mums-to-be not to buy)

I can’t think of anything yet. However, I will say that you don’t need a bunch of newborn clothing. My child grew out of that size so fast! …But every baby is different.

20. Your intake on labour pain

Labor pain wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. I did have the epidural, but it only took away the pain not the pressure of the contractions.

21. Advice to other mummy’s to be.

Breathe! Take in as much advice as you can but always remember you are building your own story. Appreciate every moment and laugh through the tough moments. Your story won’t look like any other story you’ve heard and that is what makes it special!

22. Anything else you would love to share that mums to be would find helpful!

First of all, practice working with the car seat and stroller before your baby gets here!  Also, I created a custom gown and baby bag for my labor experience and it made the whole experience special for me! Check out my website (FannieLucille.com) for any of your custom clothing or accessory needs. 🙂
